Catch a break with the Wave Pipe from Recreational Use, hand-carved from natural cherry wood in Brooklyn. With softly rounded edges and a dramatically curved silhouette, it's an awesome natural option for your ritual.
The wood has been finely sanded and finished with a natural oil to create a silky-smooth surface to the touch. The pipe contains a hollow chamber as well as a mouthpiece and a carb hole to clear the smoke, giving you an even, smooth pull every time. It ships with a few mesh screens to keep things tidy, as well as three mini metal pipe cleaners (also available separately in their Clean Kit.)
Measurements: 4 inches long, 1 inch wide, 3/4 inch deep.
So, why wood? Humans have been carving hand pipes from wood for thousands of years. Unlike glass and ceramic options, wood is virtually indestructible, and it won't shatter if you drop it on a tile floor or hot concrete. Compared to metallic and glass, wooden pipes will hold heat more effectively, allowing users to spend more time puffing and less time lighting. Additionally, the natural cherry wood this pipe is carved from imparts a mild and subtly sweet fruity undertone.
Founded in 2020, by husband and wife duo Drake and Abby Miller, Recreational Use is a home and body brand that creates space for escapism. Each product is thoughtfully designed to bring recreation into your everyday life. With an emphasis on craftsmanship, our products are made for those who value good taste, good quality, and of course, a good time.
The brand's minimal, yet playful aesthetic is heavily influenced by the founders' respective backgrounds in design, fashion, and beauty — Drake has established himself at various high-profile creative agencies and is rooted in woodworking and furniture design, while Abby, a Vogue alum and current Head of Creative and Production at the Coveteur, has spent over a decade working in the fashion and beauty industries. Together, their combined experience and love of artistry is at the core of the Rec-Use philosophy: to always honor the simple luxuries, not only in the products that you buy but also in the life that you live.
